Kia ora Parents and Guardians,
We hope you’re all doing well! We wanted to give you a heads-up about a change in our camp plans because of the orange weather warning forecast for this Sunday. To keep everyone safe and sound, we’ve decided to push back the start of Extreme Camp and Kids Camp a bit.
(This update replaces the one we were planning to send out on Saturday 11 April 2026.)
Here’s the new schedule for both camps:
- Drop Off Date:Monday, April 13th, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
- End Of Camp Pickup: Friday, April 17th, with pick-up at 6:30 PM after dinner.
Thanks, heaps, for your understanding and flexibility as we sort this out.
We also want to reassure you that Finlay Park is situated on a section of the Waikato River that is managed well. The river is controlled downstream by the Karapiro Dam and upstream by the Arapuni Dam, which means flooding is not a major concern. Mercury Energy does a great job managing the water levels, so we can enjoy our time at camp with peace of mind.
